Position and specialisations
Alan Arnold is a consultant in the Property Department. He has substantial experience in dealing with a wide range of property matters particularly commercial sales, purchases and lettings; residential and commercial development sites; and major property acquisition and construction projects. He has wide experience in negotiating complex Planning Agreements and has acted for Local Authorities. He has developed an expertise in the acquisition of property within the various pension schemes, including joint ownership and security documentation by Pension Trustees and Employers.

Alan also supports Steele Raymond LLP ’s Company Commercial Department with his wealth of experience in dealing with business formations, corporate finance, company acquisitions, disposals, demergers and reorganisations; commercial contracts & terms and conditions, and general business advice.

Education and career
He was educated at Bideford Grammar School and afterwards at Oxford Polytechnic where he gained (1970) B.Sc (Economics) as a London University external student. He then joined Philips Industries UK Limited Central Purchasing department and studied part time to qualify (1974) as a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply. He then changed career and studied at The College of Law, Chester. Alan qualified as a solicitor in 1977. He joined Steele Raymond LLP as a Partner in 2002 and became a consultant in 2006.

Personal information
Alan was born in 1948, is married and lives in Wimborne. His leisure interests include DIY and genealogy.  He is a trustee of The Friends of Victoria Hospital, Wimborne and a Director and Honorary Solicitor of Dorset Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
