Position and Specialisation
Phillip Edkins works in the Private Client Department, having joined the firm in April 2011 following the firm’s acquisition of Richards and Morgan Solicitors LLP. Phillip has specialised in probate, trusts, wills and tax matters for over 37 years. He also prepares a wide range of powers of attorney for clients and deals with issues relating to those lacking mental capacity.
Education and Career
Phillip graduated in languages and law in 1974. He spent his initial working years in corporate banking where he acquired another degree (partly in law) before joining Richards & Morgan in 1984 as manager of the Probate & Wills department. Phillip was one of the earliest members of the Society of Estate and Trust Practitioners (STEP) and has been one of their panel of national examiners responsible for assessing the thesis papers of candidates wishing to join.
He has been married for 37 years. He has 4 children and recently his first grandchild. Phillip is a regular "pub quiz" fanatic and devotes a lot of his time fund-raising for local schools by preparing their quiz nights. He is also a keen gardener and now has five chickens to tend!
